Jake's Nushagak Salmon Camp Featured

There's a good reason Jake's has been on the Nushagak for many years; they know how to cater to anglers, and the fishing is out of this world.

About the Fishing

The Nushagak boasts one of the largest king salmon runs in the state of Alaska, with between 90,000 and 300,000 kings swimming right by our front porch every year. These fish average between 15-50 lbs, and it's not uncommon at all for our anglers to land a dozen kings a day. Each. One of our regulars, a man from Scotland, averages 235 kings a week, and he's fishing from shore. The fish are certainly here.

A Day at Jake's

Fishing is the mission at Jakes, and we run our camp for fishermen. So the schedule is up to you. Get up when you like, and spend as much (or as little) time fishing as you like. In a typical day you'll take a hot shower, get dressed, and have breakfast in our dining tent, where we serve restaurant-quality meals every day. Join your guide and load up in the boat for a day of king salmon fishing that will take you to any of several great fishing spots along the river, or if you prefer to go it alone, stalk the shoreline for a tackle-busting giant. You'll have lunch and then either rest up a bit or hit the water for an afternoon of non-stop action on the river. Finish up back at camp with a nice dinner and then off to bed to rest up for the next day.

Our Accommodations

This is a fish camp, and you'll bunk in comfortable platform tents, where you'll store your gear. Our main dining tent has tables and chairs. We serve some of our meals buffet-style, and we guarantee you won't go hungry. We also have shower facilities.
