The Izaak Walton Campground is located at the Sterling Highway bridge at the confluence of the Moose and Kenai Rivers.
NOTES: Izaak Walton sits on eight acres of prime Kenai River real estate. It has 31 campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. There is a seven-day limit for camping. There is no RV size limit, and the grounds are ADA accessible. The campground offers drinking water through several hand-pump wells, however in most Alaska campgrounds, it is recommended that water be filtered, boiled or otherwise treated before drinking. Because the grounds offer good shore-based fishing, the campground is often full during summer months. It costs $5 to park, if you are just there to fish, or park a vehicle and boat trailer.
Izaak Walton offers excellent shore-based fishing at the Kenai River / Moose River confluence, and is very popular during the sockeye salmon run.
