Join Master Guide Mike "Buck" Bowden for an unforgettable adventure in America’s last true wilderness; a place that will test your limits and exceed your expectations. I hold Master Guide license #M80, and with over forty years in the business I believe the words “fair chase” are much more than a marketing slogan. I’ve built my business on it. All of our hunts use traditional spot and stalk methods as well as calling and observing. Our results are proof that the “old ways” still work.
About Our Hunts
We offer comfortable, lodge-based hunts with private guest cabins, a Norwegian-style steam sauna, home-cooked meals, and other amenities to make your wilderness stay as comfortable as possible. We have a generator and electric power for charging your camera batteries and other devices, and you can relax by the fire in the main lodge, while enjoying a movie or the conversation at the end of the day. Our lodge sits alongside a beautiful lake, nestled in a forest of spruce, birch, aspen and cottonwood. We're just a short ride below treeline, where the view is stunning and ample opportunities exist to hunt several species of Alaska big-game.
We also offer multi-species float hunting adventures for moose, brown / grizzly bear, black bear and a possibility for caribou. Float hunts take place on a beautiful, ice-cold glacial river that flows through wild country that's home to moose, brown / grizzly bear, black bear, wolf and the occasional caribou. The river offers angling for salmon, rainbow trout, Dolly Varden and grayling.
Our Dall sheep hunts are conducted out of a remote base camp, from which you will hike out to spike camps with your guide. Spike camps are located in ram country, and you will move as necessary to locate a trophy animal, re-supplying at base camp as needed. Our Dall sheep hunts also offer opportunities to hunt grizzly, black bear and caribou.
Our hunts offer moose, brown / grizzly bear, Dall sheep, black bear, caribou, wolf and wolverine.
We take a limited number of self-guided hunters for black bear or moose every yearout of the lodge. These hunts offer all the comforts of the lodge, including home-cooked meals and hands-on assistance from one of our guides.
Wilderness Trapping Adventures
If you're up for adventure, try one of our winter trapping excursions. We take you out for ten days on one of our two remote traplines, and teach you the various sets for wolf, wolverine, lynx, mink, otter, beaver, ermine and marten. All furs caught are yours, and we help prep them and get them to your taxidermist or the tannery.
